Left: what Republicans say, in their own words. Right: the same for Democrats. Middle: the record. The record is not a third opinion. We check claims from both sides against documents and data and give each one a verdict. What the verdicts mean
Vance: any honest talk about the future starts with the Iran war.
Cruz: bring down food, gas and diesel prices; he also cites tariffs.
The White House: end DEI programs and promote equal treatment under the law.
Voters didn’t reject the party’s agenda. They left over a war and the cost of living, and the party can win them back by fixing both. (Based on statements by Vance and Cruz.)

What the record shows{{c.finding}}
“Democrats, when we have the power, you have to use it.”
Pressley: pass Medicare for All and abolish ICE.
Jeffries (Sept.): reverse Medicaid cuts and restore Congress’s say on tariffs.
Sen.-elect Talarico: abolish the filibuster. Others want new Senate leadership.
Voters handed Democrats power on costs and health care, and a timid agenda would waste it. Acting fast and visibly is how the majority lasts. (Based on statements by Pressley and Semafor’s reporting on the left.)
